I'm a GP by day (part time) and an overtime mum of one lovely toddler and one cutest littlest infant. I've always loved making things as I grew up but never in a million years did I think it could ever be a hobby. I always thought a hobby is like reading or writing or something along those boring lines 😝.
Now that I am a mum and spend a lot of time at home when I'm not working somewhat hard, I love to create things. Some are useful, some are useless and a waste of money 😫, but most of them teach me how to be better at keeping up with this very so awesome hobby!
So let's start with my first 'blogged' DIY shall we? (Probably like after a million failed DIY projects).
I made my cutie petutie toddler a kitchenette!! Yes a DIY kitchen for the cooking enthusiast kids out there! Now I have all the tools I could possibly need to make one from scrap wood but considering the time limitations with my littlest infant needing mummy's undivided attention at times if feed and change etc, I opted for an easy and yes, CHEAP fix!
I bought two pieces of furniture (a cubic shelf from Kmart for $19, and a pegboard shelf from Kmart for $29). Then I got some cool wood like contact paper and went to work.
It took me as long as it would take to assemble an ikea furniture. Really it was easy, minus the step where I drilled a hole out for the sink (that was easy to with my trusty jigsaw but took like a whole 3 minutes of my time and some few more for the after mess clean up).
The result.... She absolutely loves it!!! And I can see littlest cutie petutie pushing his way towards the table and looking at it in total awe! He wants to play cooking too I'm sure. 😊👍
Ps: I still need to figure out how to add a door for a built in oven and dishwasher unit and also some knobs and a faucet for the sink. But this kitchen has already began its adventures alright!
